Overview: The blade is made of 80CRV2 High Carbon steel, heat treated to 61 HRC to ensure exceptional hardness and edge-holding capabilities.
This blade is made of high carbon (non-stainless) steel. Keep it dry, and clean, and it will develop a highly-coveted patina, and will avoid any rusting. This patina will act as a protective layer on the steel. Basically, treat it like grandma's cast iron skillet, and it will last a lifetime.
I have provided a tin of organic, food-safe wax. When desired, apply wax to blade and handles liberally, wait 5-20 minutes, and wipe away excess. This wax will also provide a durable protection layer from any moisture.
